Where beach life is sweet LET’S just say this is one summer getaway where you’ll literally have a sweet time.
Dig this! LAST weekend at the Rockwell Vintage Bazaar, it was a mix of things familiar and new. Crowds of frenzied shoppers—mostly women, but the men showed up in force as well—flocked to the Rockwell tent to experience one of the city’s most awaited annual bazaars. Booths stocked up with the latest summer essentials; sexy swimsuits by Risque, nautical and seashells-encrusted necklaces and accessories from Butterfly, pretty sundresses in light fabrics by Patty Eustaquio, and bestselling reading materials from Powerbooks are just some of the many finds in the event.
Hostel THOSE with weak stomachs, stay home for this one. Remember that scene in Reservoir Dogs where the guy gets his ear cut off? Right before it happens the camera pans away and all we get is the screaming. Hostel will do no such thing. It will let you watch. Dogs gets the mention because Tarantino takes producer credits here, while the film is written and directed by Eli Roth.
DOG DAZE STYLE DOG Not Dead is the title of an ongoing exhibit at Blue Room Gallery, a one-year-old alternative art space in the outskirts of Makati City.
Satisfaction plus "If you can’t find it, make it," says a genius suggestion spun from mothering an invention. Today, young entrepreneurs have found the new necessity that greatly fuels "making," and are feeding the growing desire to look and feel good by putting up health and beauty salons that all claim blissful experience in a day’s visit.
Live, direct and in living color FOR a while last year, Smart Communications kept people on tenterhooks over whether 3G, or third-generation mobile phone communications, is really here. Its rival, Globe Telecoms, made live 3G demos last year, but was still unable to launch what is undoubtedly the most awaited communications technology on a commercial basis. Consumers, predictably, were counting on Smart to finally deliver on the 3G promise.
