Subic, the former American military base, has become the new recreational and industrial center north of Manila. Investors, both local and foreign, have been attracted to the charm and potential of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
One of the satisfied investors in Subic is the Legend International Resorts Limited (LIRL). Owned by Metroplex Berhad of Malaysia, Legend International Resorts has at present three completed properties in Subic: The Legenda Hotel, Grand Seasons Hotel, and the Legenda Suites.
Legenda Hotel is the only five-star hotel in Subic. Just 15 minutes away from the Subic Bay International Airport, Legenda Hotel is on Waterfront Road fronting Subic Bay itself. It has a total of 254 rooms, with a 24-hour coffee shop called Le Café, a Chinese restaurant called The Museum, and a Lobby Lounge for drinks and music. It also has a spa and a gym, as well as a disco and karaoke club called Neptune Club.
Grand Seasons Hotel is a deluxe hotel with 155 rooms, situated at the Canal Street, in the business district of Subic Bay. Grand Seasons’ Feng Huang Restaurants serves shabu-shabu and Chinese cuisine, while Four Seasons, open 24 hours, serves Chinese and Western cuisine.
The third property, Legenda Suites, opened in July 1997, has 102 suites and is located in Upper Cubi, near the recreation centers. The villa-suites have kitchenettes in addition to the living and dining areas for the convenience of guests.
The three properties cater to both the local and international markets, bringing in a quarter of a million foreign tourists to Subic each year.
