Oracle Asia Pacific, a division of Oracle Corporation, the world’s largest enterprise software company, today announced strong revenue growth and customer traction during the third quarter of its FY06. Businesses across Asia continue to select Oracle products and services over competitive offerings to integrate their business systems, reduce total cost of ownership, and gain business insight and competitiveness.

Oracle Asia Pacific reported total revenues of US8 million for Q3FY06 (ended February 28, 2006), an 8% increase from Q3FY05. The Asia Pacific region accounted for about 13% of total Q3 revenues worldwide. In Q3FY06, Asia Pacific’s applications new license revenues grew 52%, compared with Q3FY05. Total new license revenues for Asia Pacific contributed 18% of worldwide Q3FY06 new license revenues.

"We continue to see growing demand from customers in Asia Pacific for open, flexible and standards-based software, and this is extending Oracle’s marketshare and leadership in enterprise and midmarket applications and technology," said Derek Williams, Executive Vice President, Oracle Asia Pacific. "Companies across key industries and markets are looking to Oracle to provide innovative solutions, and better quality information, with less complexity and at lower cost. Many organizations are adopting Oracle’s Fusion Architecture, technology and applications, as the foundation for a next-generation service-oriented architecture for their business. Greater business insight, agility, high availability and improved efficiencies are keys to driving our customers’ business growth and competitiveness."

In Q3FY06, Oracle announced plans to expand its footprint in the highgrowth markets of India and China by establishing a presence in nine non-metro cities in India and 26 cities in China. Oracle is currently operating in six cities in India and four cities in China. This expansion will enable Oracle to address new market opportunities, promote growth in the local economies and accelerate development of the local software industry.

Oracle is growing its partner footprint across Asia Pacific to support its expanding business.
