In a characteristically UP style, alumni and friends of the College of Mass Communication (CMC) mark summer with a cause-oriented project aimed at generating much-needed funds for the UP-CMC.
Dubbed as "Fun Raising: Tawag Ka Uli Ni Aling Suming", the event slated for April 8, 6 p.m. at Party Central, 141 Mother Ignacia Street in Quezon City, the event is going to be a hilarious night with performances from alumni Giselle Sanchez, the only UP cum laude graduate who pursued comedy; advertising creative biggie turned funny girl, Tessie Tomas, fast-rising comic/host, Jaja Bolivar; versatile actor Malou De Guzman and guest artist Ate Glow. Also lending their talent for the project are UP-CMC friends Richard Merck, Rannie Raymundo, Masculados and M-Gage. Directed by alumnus and prized film and stage director Maryo J. de los Reyes. All this for only P500 per person, including food, drinks and a raffle ticket.
Another highlight of the evening is the induction of the UP-CMC Alumni Association (UP-CMCAA) officers led by Maryo de los Reyes, Jessica Soho, "Neny" Pernia, Lois Villanueva, Jane Vinculado, Arminda Santiago, Danilo Arao and Erika Dandal; and members of the Board of Directors Dr. Grace "Gigi" Javier Alfonso, Jaja Bolivar, Yasmin Crisostomo, Karen Davila, Ambet Nabus, Lourdes "Odette" Portus and Edgar Navalta. Officiating the induction ceremony is Consuelo "Aling Suming" Agapito, no less...mother of all CMC students and graduates.
