Trans Sport Show 2006, the country’s longest running automotive show is all set to unfold April 26 to 30 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall B, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.

The show is organized by TradeShow International, Inc. (TSI).

This year’s motoring event will gather an impressive collection of more than 50 contemporary show cars and meticulously restored classic and vintage milestone cars. These cars will compete head to head at the Trans Sport Show Cup Open Class Car Competition in the hopes of garnering the highly coveted "Best of Show" award.

One reason that can be attributed to the show’s success is the strict quality of judging. Whether your entry is a rare exotic car or a regular Japanese model, both cars have an equal chance of winning the top award. Winning cars are judged based on originality, restoration quality, execution and attention to details.

Trans Sport Show can also be credited for improving the level of Filipino craftsmanship in the areas of car restoration. Every year since its first show, the level of challenge at the Trans Sport Show Cup Open Class Competition has gone up steadily to the point where local car restorers are now considered at par or even better compared to other Asian countries including Japan.

Some of the more notable car entries this year are as follows: a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 from last year’s Best of Show winner Alex Isip; 1978 Ferrari 308 GTB from Automagic; 1958 Mercedes Benz 190SL roadster from Erwin Estacio Auto Restoration; 1966 Corvette Stingray coupe from Red 65 Paintnix Auto Restoration; 1957 Bel Air 500 convertible from Route 66; 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster from Autozone; 1951 Mercedes Benz 220 cabriolet from Alex & Caesar Wongchuking and a 1953 Jaguar XK-120 roadster from DC Autosport.

The number of corporate exhibitors also increased compared to last year. Concorde Car Accessories Center, this year’s Platinum sponsor, will launch several new products coming from their top name brands such as: Lanzar Car Audio and Pyle for car audio/video equipment; Formula 1 High Performance Auto Care Products and Car Plan Car Care for car exterior waxes, detailers, tire/vinyl care, shampoos and carpet cleaners; Elevo Performance Products for oil/gas additives and lubricants; AM Motorcycle Helmets and Packy Poda quality floor mats. Maxx Energie will launch the new Car Vio Mobile Entertainment System and the Ipod 2 Car Peripheral.

Now on its 15th year, the show is sponsored by Concorde Car Accessories as Platinum Sponsor and Sports Plus Auto Club as Gold Sponsor. Minor sponsors are Ambi Pur, Café Puro, Skystar, 105.1 Crossover, 103.5 K-Lite, Magic 89.9, RT 99.5, Digital Resources Corp., PhilOnline, Yehey.com, Manila Bulletin, Business World and Philippine Star.
