The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 807 out of 2,399 passed the Electronics and Communications Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Electronics and Communications Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, and Cebu this month.

On the Board of Electronics and Communications Engineering which gave the licensure examination are Engr. Alfredo T. Fragante, chairman; and Engrs. Rene Leandro P. Ebro and Sylvia I. Marcelo, members.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, April 18, but not later than April 25.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be held before the Board in Manila on Tuesday, May 2, 1:30 p.m., at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel; in Cagayan de Oro City to be announced later; and in Cebu City on Saturday, May 6, at the Montebello Villa Hotel, Banilad, Cebu City.

Registration for membership with the Institute of Electronics and Communications Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) will start on Tuesday, April 18.

The top performing schools in the April 2006 Electronics and Communications Engineer Licensure Examination are:

— With 100 or more examinees:

Mapua Institute of Technoloy, 162 of 342, 47 percent.

— With 50-99 examinees:

De La Salle University Manila, 41 of 73, 56 percent; and Technological University of the Philippines- Manila, 27 of 50, 54 percent.

— With 20-49 examinees:

University of Sto. Tomas, 16 of 23, 70 percent; Central Philippine University, 19 of 34, 56 percent; and Ateneo de Davao University, 17 of 34, 50 percent.

The Top 10 examinees are:

Winston Santelices Camacho, University of the East-Caloocan, 90.60 percent; Woodrow Bastasa Pino, University of San Carlos, 88.50; Anna Suzette Salazar Pastrana, Mapua Institute of Technology, 88.20; Dennis Lagbona Nam-on, St. Mary’s University, 88.15; Klaribelle Mojica Obsum, De La Salle University-Manila, 88;

Sen Jamir Pablo Visalda, Mapua Institute of Technology, 87.95; Meyrick Jay Aranas Valenciano, University of Sto. Tomas, 87.60; Rosemarie Sardan Manzano, Mapua Institute of Technology, 87.45; Michelle Dario Bersamina, Rizal Technological University, 87.10; and Ricardo Jr. Bernardo Roldan, Mapua Institute of Technology, 87.
