The Price of Fitness: Anna Unson - Price
We were planning to feature today the progress made by Emy and Christian, our former Makeover Challengers, but we got all excited to announce the new home of our Makeover Challenge 2006, Excel 24/7 Fitness Center. They will be giving our Male and Female contenders each an entire year of fitness evaluations and personal training. Eclipse is open around the clock, seven days a week and is located at the ground floor, Le Mirage de Malate Building, 2126 A. Mabini Street, Malate, Manila, near the Manila Zoo.
They occupy two floors or 800 sq. m. of the building, the ground floor containing the lockers rooms and four rooms filled to the brim with top of the line equipment, amounting to a total of 6,000 pounds of precise Olympic weights and dumbbells. One floor houses cardio equipment, including 20 of the largest treadmills available in the industry and 18 Cybex Arc Trainers, the first in Metro Manila, each and every unit with its own TV monitor, and weight training machines that were designed with the Asian body in mind, for example, all benches are only 42" inches above the ground, which is more suitable for people 5’2"-5’10". The second room is their Spinning Studio, and contains a whopping 40 Spinning bikes. The other two rooms are the women’s Gym, or what they call the "Fitness Chick Studio" and is a complete workout center in itself, with both weight training and cardio machines, and was created so that girls of any age or fitness level could relax and work out without being intimidated by sweaty, grunting bodybuilders. However, if you’re the type of fitness chick who enjoys sweaty, grunting bodybuilders, you’re perfectly welcome in the "Dungeon", where the he-men and he-men wanna be’s train. The mezzanine floor has their 64 sqm cardio studio, which offers classes like boxing, yoga, pilates, etc.
Considering all of this, you would think their rates are sky high, but surprisingly, they’re extremely reasonable. They don’t charge a joining or processing fee, are 15-20 percent lower in rates than their closest competitor, and you can expect guidance and advice from their experienced trainers without actually having to hire them as your personal trainers. Rates actually start from P800 to P2,000 per month!
We can’t wait to get started! Entries have already started to come in, so don’t wait until the last moment – send your letters before Easter Sunday and win a year’s Makeover with Eclipse 24/7 and all of our other sponsors. Here’s the info for those who missed last issue’s instructions for joining:
All you have to do if you’d like to join is to send us a letter telling us your name and contact info, weight, height and measurements (in inches around the neck, chest, waist, hips, thigh, upper arm). Tell us in 200-250 words why you should be chosen for a year of free makeovers. If you are chosen, you will win one year of membership, receive workout clothes and shoes to make you look and feel fitter on your way to a better body, be pampered and styled at our sponsoring Salon and Day Spa, etc! We will guide you through a proper eating program, help you through your workouts and teach you tips and tricks to get you through your Makeover year and beyond! So make your letter as effective as possible, and our judges will decide whose words are the most deserving. Send your entries to annaprice@skydsl.com.ph or at wellbeing@mb.com.ph with a full-length recent photo of yourself. Please try and complete all requirements because only those with all details will be included in our finals.
