Biliran governor boosts local tourism industry
spacer
NAVAL, Biliran — Local tourism is a promising industry for this islandprovince.

This became even more apparent after Governor Rogelio Espina embarked on a drive to build infrastructure support facilities in various tourist spots in the province.

Espina says he wants to entice local and foreign visitors to see the unique natural landscape of the province.

As the newest tourist destination in Eastern Visayas, what sets Biliran apart from other provinces is that it has a most peaceful atmosphere even as it is not remote from the rest of the world. The province boasts of modern telecommunications facilities, including mobile communications and cable TV.

Many Asian and European tourists prefer Biliran’s restful natural landscape over many of the country’s leading resorts, most of which are now crowded and have priced themselves out of the market.
