STOCKHOLM (XFN-ASIA) - LM Ericsson AB's chief executive Carl-Henric Svanberg said he expects the total number of mobile subscribers in the world to exceed 3 billion by next year, three years ahead of the company's most recent projections.
''This is not because we have been too conservative with our estimates but because everything is becoming more affordable'' said Svanberg, in reference to connection and usage fees.
In September last year there were a reported 1.7 billion wireless subscribers in the world, with the 2 billion mark expected to be reached early 2006.
