Study opportunities in one of the world’s best known schools in hospitality management will be unveiled for students who wish to pursue careers in hotel and restaurant management and culinary arts, during a public seminar and exhibit on the programs of Les Roches and Kendall College on April 22, from 10 am to 4 pm, at AIM Conference Center, Asian Institute of Management (ACCEED) in Makati City.
To be conducted by International Education Specialists, the one-day educational and career event will feature Tom FitzGibbon of Kendall College of the US and Veronique Blanc of Les Roches of Switzerland as guest speakers.
The seminar-exhibit is supported by the US Commercial Service of the Department of Commerce of the United States of America.
The seminar-exhibit and open house, which is open to the public, will showcase a full range of the undergraduate, graduate and professional programs in hotel and restaurant management and culinary arts being offered by Les Roches at its campuses in Switzerland, Spain and at Kendall College in the US.
Acknowledged as the most influential HRM training institution worldwide, Swiss Hotel Association and its hotel management school, Les Roches, have grown exponentially with the establishment of branches in Marbella, Spain and Shanghai, China and the affiliation of a sister-school, The Glion Institute in Clarens, Switzerland.
Its program is also now being offered at Kendall College, where students can take up courses in culinary arts and hospitality management.
Since 1980, when Les Roches opened its doors to HRM students from all over the world with English as the medium of instruction, the Philippines has accounted for more than 700 graduates, with 400 occupying senior management positions across the globe and 300 in the country holding top management posts in the leading hotels, resorts, bars and theme restaurants.
Roger D. Bartholomew, president of Inter-Ed, which has been responsible for organizing and sending local students Les Roches for the past 25 years, attributed the impressive number of successful Filipino graduates to the Swiss style of training which he described as "intensely practical, skills-based and with a big focus on attitude."
Philippine students learn the skills and discipline needed for success in the industry in a great educational environment as they undergo paid industry experience every year in Switzerland to put what they have learned into actual practice, he said.
