Provincial board members not keen on endorsing STL operation in Benguet
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Provincial officials here are disturbed by the snowballing opposition to the operation of the controversial Small Town Lottery (STL) as the provincial board deferred its action on a proposed resolution authorizing the legalized jueteng game to allow wider public debates on the matter.

2,652 pieces of illegally cut logs confiscated
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -— Personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the police seized 2,652 pieces of illegally cut logs or 1,152.13 cubic meters at creeks and tributaries of Agusan River during a no-nonsense, round-the-clock operation last week.

Areas in Benguet sinking; aid sought
