BINMALEY, Pangasinan - Mayor Simplicio Rosario of Binmaley, Pangasinan, paid tribute to the town’s idyllic tranquility, the "ingrained patriotism" of his US-based townspeople who have unselfishly supported some of his landmark projects, and their passion for education that has made the town "an ideal municipality in Northern Luzon."
The town’s tranquil atmosphere, rent only by the sound of sea waves from the Lingayen Gulf, is being secured by a competent police force headed by newly installed chief of police, Supt. Rudolph B. Dimas, formerly of the Bayambang police force.
In a recent meeting, Mayor Rosario cited the chief of police’s "industry, deep sense of cooperation with local government officials and his sensitivity to community issues which ranks him among the good PNP officers assigned in Binmaley."
Earlier reports alleged that Superintendent Dimas was sacked by the Police Provincial Office (PPO) for allegedly maintaining 74 video karera or "VK" machines in several barangays at his former assignment in Bayambang, Pangasinan.
He vehemently denied the report, saying that the allegations against him were all fabrications and blatant lies. "I am already contemplating of filing the appropriate charges to defend my rights," Superintendent Dimas said.
"The reassignment of Superintendent Dimas to Binmaley Police Station was voluntary, contrary to the report that he was sacked from his post for allegedly maintaining 74 video kareras," Supt. Alejandro M. Valerio J., personnel officer of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, attested.
Binmaley has gained popularity for its "postcard" Children’s Park inaugurated by President Arroyo last year and its spanking municipal hall inaugurated recently by Speaker Jose de Venecia, Gov. Victor Agbayani, Vice Gov. Oscar Lambino, and Congressman Amado Espino.
