Divine Mercy College Foundation Inc. Dr. Antonio Cajucom Martinez and Benedicta Balatbat Martinez opened the doors of the School of Divine Mercy (SDM) on June 1990. At that time, the great devotion to the Divine Mercy was beginning to inspire and take roots in the hearts of Filipinos. Although the present SDM premises owned by the late Atty. and Mrs. Ricardo S. Balatbat was envisioned as a hospital, the founders attribute to Divine Providence that it became a school. Thus, in establishing the school, they dedicated it to the Divine Mercy.
Divine devotion to education Divine Mercy College Foundation, Inc., which is about a kilometer from the Andres Bonifacio monument going to Sangandaan, at Jose Bautista Street (formerly University Avenue), is a fast growing college. The school was established to provide education that will respond to the dynamic needs of its community by developing students who can adapt to the challenges of society and individuals who will be productive and contributing to the progress of the country.
