The country’s premier franchise show is back as the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) gears up for Franchise 2006, the Philippine International Franchise Conference and Expo (PIFCE) scheduled this July at the Hotel Philippine Plaza and the World Trade Center Manila.
Today’s biggest and the longest-running one-stop shop franchise show of the year, PIFCE offers four events in one: the plenary on July 13 at the Hotel Philippine Plaza; educational/breakout sessions on July 14 and expo on July 14-16 at the World Trade Center. Likewise, Module I will be offered under the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Program, a mini–MBA course on Franchise Management offered by the International Certified Franchise Executives on July 11-12 at the Asian Institute of Management Policy Center.
With this year’s theme, "Brands and Opportunities," Franchise 2006 will gather together local and international experts who will tackle new and exciting topics on the latest global franchising trends and developments, business strategies and success formula. Topics include "Global franchising", "Consumer/Market Trends," "Philippine Cities Competitiveness Ranking Project," and "Formulas for Success." On day two at the educational/breakout sessions, the topics will be as follows: "Key Elements in Selecting and Acquiring International Master Franchise," "Developing a Web-based Marketing Support System," "Advantages and Disadvantages of POS System or Outsourcing System," "Financial Benchmarking: What to Measure and Why?," "New Ideas in Local Store Marketing," "Options During Economic Crunch", "How to Develop an Entrepreneurial Mind," among others.

Considered as springboard for emerging concepts, franchise expo this year is bigger and even better as it occupies two halls of the World Trade Center, showcasing a wide variety of local and international concepts in food, retail and service. Franchise 2006 expo will also feature FEA pavilion which showcases the winners of the recently-concluded Franchise Excellence Awards (FEA) 2005; international pavilion that showcases different concepts from Asia and the Asia- Pacific regions and the emerging homegrown concepts which are now ready to expand and grow thru franchising. The PIFCE expo will also feature suppliers and allied services who intend to do business with franchise businesses.
