JUNIOR PLAYERS Marlo Capinianes and Carlos Tinio III showed up their elders in the recent members monthly tournament for May of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
Capinianes scored a 74 while Tinio a 75 for the first two places in Class A with Wilfredo Bata checking in third after a 75.
Winning the other divisions were Felix Cortez, Jimmy Boado, Ruperto Pangilinan, Misako Ogihara, Benito Oblena and Sadamu Fujimoto.
Meanwhile, young Kwon Ye-seul, a dependent of the club, scored a big victory for Eagle Ridge when she won the ladies division of the recent National Tournament of Club Champions.
Kwon beat Vinice Godio of Alabang and Sta. Elena, 2 up, in the finals to share honors with men’s division winner Park Jong-soo of Eastridge for a Korean sweep of the prestigious tourney.
Kwon will be receiving a special prize from the club when she comes back from a series of competitions in Korea.
Cortez had a 67 to beat Arnel Romero by four in Class B, Boado’s 66 gave him a one-shot win over Bob Labrador in Class C, Pangilinan (63) won by two over Percival Santos in Class D.
In Ladies action, Misako Ogihara turned back Rizza Uy in a countback, Oblena (64) won the Seniors Division I by two over Rosendo Cruz and Fujimoto (68) finished two shots ahead of Ermelo Villaroman in Division II.
