Technews was able to get in touch with Frederick Chao, marketing manager of GMask Philippines, and had a candid chat about the genesis of GMask in their outlet at the newly opened SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
"GMask started more than 6 years ago when a Japanese developed an idea of using protective films, used for laminating outdoor signage boards, to wrap on specific gadgets. From there, GMask evolved, and it became a huge blockbuster in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India," Chao explained.
Technews noticed that the GMask outlet was attracting much attention to many mall rats and passers-by that were curious to take a peep and look on the display rack of GMasked gadgets. Some were also making inquiries, while others were starstruck that they had their gadgets GMasked right away. Even one of our Technews staff had her Nokia 6600, GMasked, Da Vinci Code style.
"Eversince GMask Philippines opened its first outlet in Glorietta 2 on May 12, 2006, we immediately became an instant hit overnight, and had first satisfied GMask customers, including local celebrity Jennifer Illustre and fashion accessories designer Happy David. And with the conjunction of the opening of the SM Mall of Asia, and with our second outlet here, we experienced the same response from mallers here," he said.

This film is scratch, water and weather resistant and can protect your electronic gadgets, ranging from mobile phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, and laptops, from 5 to 7 years," Chao explained.

They told us that it takes them about 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete the process. We find them well-trained and constantly maintained high quality care on every gadget they dressed up.
"Our GMask staff have undergone rigorous training with our foreign staff from Japan who taught them the art of GMasking that ensures their consistent quality and speed. We equip our GMaskers with excellent high-quality tools and workmanship in GMasking electronic gadgets. Aside from that, we set aside at least 2% of our annual turnover in R&D, to review, modify and enhance our material, printing technology and creative designs; and develop new innovative GMask wraps to stay afresh to our clients' needs," he said.
"After each wrap, we make sure that customers are completely satisfied as to the look, the feel, and how they want to customize further. Furthermore, we offer free touch-up within one month of wrapping. We can also remove the wrap for the customer in the future, free-of-charge," Chao added.

"The glue that we use is imported and considered as the world's strongest glue that assures the mobile owner that the crystals will not chip away throughout during its usage.
