THE WORKSHOP CUISINE (Angeles, Pampanga)
Last week I was invited by the Hotel and Restaurant Management Department of the Holy Angel University in Angeles, Pampanga to sample an overwhelming line of haute cuisines prepared by the students during a rigid, five-day seminar-workshop on gastronomy.

Since I already wrote about garlic, I feel it’s inevitable for me to discuss the onion. The onion is not just a great flavor and aroma partner of garlic in oriental cuisine and in many cuisines of the world.

Bohol Road and Food Trip
Over the weekend, me and some friends finally got to see more of Bohol…and along with the sightseeing, is Bohol food tasting.

A MARTINI PARTY…
After a quick merienda at Le Ching in Greenhills Shopping Center, I found myself hustling over to Book Sale to pore over the new delivery of used books. I make it a point that every time I go to a mall and wander around, I allot about 15 minutes to go through used books at Book Sale, because you never know what treasures you might find there. This time, I was so lucky to get hold of The Martini Book written by Sally Ann Berk, with over 200 recipes of martini, for only P185.00 pesos.

Provencal’s Red, White, & Sweet
Café Provencal, at the second level of the Shangri-La Mall, recently celebrated Provencal living by a sampling of 14 different French wines and delicacies from region. Energy Food and Drinks, Inc., exclusive distributor of Red Bull Energy Drink, supplied the festival with three leading French wine brands, J.P. Chenet, Louis Eschenauer, and Baron d’ Arignac.

Oooh-La-Lamb! Again
The lambs can be silenced no more, as some of the finest restaurants and hotels in the Philippines treat their customers to the many ways of enjoying Australian lamb, being participants in the month-long Oooh-La-Lamb festival from May 15 to June 18.

Mini Taste Of Thailand
With this summer heat, I dread to be anywhere except in a cold place. In my case I often go to the nearest mall, in particular, the Glorietta. Inside the Glorietta mall is a small place called Dusit Thani. It is a small and unpretentious restaurant with small tables and chairs. The plates were mini as well.

Taste Wine Spot
Made from Malbec grapes, Argentina’s flagship variety, the Terrazas de los Andes Afincado Malbec is a full-bodied wine with high intensity and structure. It’s persistently rich and marked with aromatic fruit flavors, typical of the Las Compuertas Vineyard. The wine is characteristically strong but flowery, with touches of chocolate, caramel, violets, plums, and small berries.
