The opposing camps of the Liberal Party — one led by Senate President Franklin M. Drilon and the other by Manila Mayor Jose "Lito" L. Atienza Jr. — holds a meeting today at the Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, the outcome of which could make or unmake the 60-year-old political party founded by the late President Manuel L. Roxas.
The two camps agreed to meet on neutral ground when the Comelec, led by Chairman Benjamin S. Abalos Sr., set for Thursday, June 8, the next hearing of the case, giving the parties time to cool off after tempers flared up in the June 1 hearing, stipulate facts, and simplify the issues. (E. T.
