CORE GATEWAY COLLEGE is the home of athletes and student leaders, known all throughout San Jose City because of its Sports Team. This athletic team has brought to the College seven consecutive over-all championship in the Inter Collegiate and Technical Schools Athletic Association (ICATSAA).
From its first season in 1997 until 2004, CGC has been taking home the bacon. It was only last year October 2005 when the College did not enter the competition due to the fact that the College is under transition period.
Great changes has been taking place since the institution changed its name from The Colleges of the Republic to its present name. With the help of the College Department’s new Dean, Dr. Danilo Vargas, its studentry is waiting for greater changes that will take place this academic year, 2006 – 2007.
The College not only excels in its sports affiliations but its student leaders are also making their mark in the society. Its student leaders are continuously making efforts in helping the community. Tree planting activities are held regularly to help the city in its campaign to plant trees and assure a green future for the youth of San Jose.
Clean and Green campaigns were also spearheaded by the Department Governors with the help of the Junior Executive Business Managers to help the surrounding barangays in maintaining a clean environment. Outreach programs are also conducted seasonally to help in the city build up for a better San Jose.
With the initiative of these student leaders, CGC is in for a brighter and better tomorrow. With more projects being laid out, the students of CGCeans are in for the ride of their lives.
