San Sebastian Canlubang Campus aptly marked its formal occupation of the 17-hectare land inside Carmelray Industrial Park 1 in Canlubang, Laguna with greeneries planted in and out of its first structured building.
Plants of various kinds were ceremonially sowed by the Grade School, High School, College, NTP/ANTP, Graduate Studies/Lay/Alumni, and even student organizations.
"Think big through small things," says SSC-R Manila president Rev. Fr. Hernan B. Omecillo, OAR who led and spearheaded the event. He emphasized that raising a plant is a simple gesture that could mean a lot as in creating a bountiful future for our environment, the country and the world.
Held last June 2, the event was graced by Mr. Bascos of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. In his remarks, he commended the SSC-R Community for lauding a project that truly drums up awareness as June is observed as the Environment Month.
Yesterday was another colorful day as the SSC-R Canlunbang moved around Canlubang and Calamba for a motorcade of news on its opening and inauguration. The same occasion intended to bring people in for a whole day of Open House activities which included orientation for freshmen students and parents.
Incidentally, SSC-R Canlubang still accepts enrollees for SY 2006-2007. Entrance exam is given for free. Inquiries, exams and enrollment are now being held at the Carmelray Office located near Metrobank and RCBC of Carmelray Industrial Park 1.
