The Navotas Municipal Jail bagged the Best Municipal Jail Citation for Metro Manila for year 2005 and will be the official entry of the National Capital Region (NCR) in the national level for the municipal level category.
J/Chief Superintendent Armando Llamansares, Regional Director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in NCR signed the Certificate of Merit to Navotas Municipal Jail.
J/Supt. Deogracias Tapayan, Navotas Jail warden, was also awarded as the Best Municipal Jail Warden of the year in the awarding ceremony which coincide with the 15th BJMP-NCR anniversary under the theme "Adhikaing Kapayapaan at Kaayusan ng Penolohiya sa Kalakhang Maynila.’’
Navotas was awarded in recognition of its distinguished and extraordinary achievements in jail management, administration, operation and materialization of the organization in the pursuit of providing humane living condition to detainees, which contributed to the overall furtherance of the BJMP Mission, Vision and Objectives.
With the award, Mayor Toby Tiangco congratulated the men and women of the Navotas Municipal Jail for their efforts in keeping and maintaining the BJMP mandate in the municipality. (Ed Mahilum)
