The MPEG4 Revolution
MPEG4 (Moving Picture Experts Group Compression Standard Version 4) is a technology for compressing voice, video and related control data and is one of the MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) international standards. It is currently a focus of attention due to the fact that it enables high speed and stable video transmission even in heretofore difficult environments such as mobile communication.
Nokia N92 mobile TV devices to be used during football championships to enjoy live broadcasts over DVB-H technology
Live mobile TV broadcasts will be aired to Nokia N92 mobile devices, and other DVB-H enabled devices, in a pilot project run by the German mobile network operators E-Plus, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone. The pilot started in Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and Munich and will run until August 31 except Munich where the pilot ends on July 31, 2006. The pilot gives access to live broadcasts on mobile devices during the football championships where guests of E-Plus, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone will be able to enjoy live TV programs.

Samsung Launches Industry’s First Blu-ray Disc Player
Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced that the industry’s first Blu-ray disc player has been shipped to retailers in the U.S. market for availability on June 25th. The Samsung Blu-ray disc player (BD-P1000) has been eagerly awaited by consumers anticipating the opportunity to view High Definition discs on their existing HDTVs.
HSDPA Network Deployments Reach 100
The latest "HSDPA Operator Commitments" survey undertaken by vendor trade association GSA - Global mobile Suppliers Association, confirms that 100 HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) networks, an increase of 100% in 6 months, are in deployment or commercially launched in 49 countries and territories worldwide.
