BLACK & DECKER CHALLENGE
Black & Decker, the world’s leader in advanced power tool technology, hardware and home improvement products, will hold the final round of the Black & Decker Challenge 2006 on June 25, Sunday at the SM Makati Activity Area.
Each year, power tool enthusiasts across the country have participated in the annual Black & Decker Challenge. Developed by members of Black & Decker’s marketing team, the challenge revolutionized event marketing within the Power Tool industry and has become a fixture at every Black & Decker event since its inception in 2003.
This year, Black & Decker plans to excite consumers by holding the first ever Black & Decker CELEBRITY CHALLENGE featuring top personalities from entertainment and media.
"The Black & Decker Challenge is relatively simple yet it seems to magnetize folks with any level of competitive juice in their body," said Anthony Allarey, Commercial Manager for Black & Decker Philippines. "Using one of our most popular tools, a Black & Decker cordless drill, the challenge tests speed and accuracy while demanding nerves of steel. Participants are required to drive five screws into wood as quickly as they possibly can in order to win a wide array of prizes.
"Our market become obsessed by it, distributors demand it, and competition attempt to duplicate it. The Black & Decker Challenge is unique, and from a marketing standpoint there is not a better way to get our tools into the hands of users in a practical application type of setting."
Some of the celebrities expected to participate in this year’s challenge include action star Ronnie Ricketts, TV host Cito Beltran, DZMM Radio host Angelo Palmones, noted sports columnist Bill Velasco, and other surprise guests.
Throughout the day, Black & Decker will also exhibit its wide array of products through an experiential showcase dubbed the Black & Decker Project Centers co-sponsored by ACE, TOP GEAR, T3 Magazine, REAL LIVING, and the MANILA BULLETIN.
The main event will be held at 3PM and hosted by Paolo Abrera and Regine Tolentino.
