SHOPPING SHOWDOWN
SO many shopping malls, so little time.

I SHOP, THEREFORE I AM
YOU know life is good when you’ve just been invited to participate and be your nation’s flag carrier in the Great Singapore Sale Challenge. Official Philippine Representative. Sounds good, huh? I have to admit it also sounded a little strange to me considering that I never actually done anything to merit representing the country in any kind of international competition.

S is The Word
WHAT happens when you bring a shopaholic (that’s me and I’m still in denial! hahaha) to the Great Singapore Sale? She goes berserk! Good thing I was only there for the Great Singapore Sale race. To those who are shopaholics, Singapore is our North Star. Read on and you’ll realize why.

BEAUTY PICK OF THE WEEK
I always drop by a salon for a haircut every time I go to Singapore, Hong Kong or any Asian country. For one, I get a lot more compliments. Second, I get to try out their products and services that are not yet available in the Philippines like rebonding (I had it eight years ago) and digital perm (I had it in Singapore five years ago).

ARTS CENTRAL
IF art, indeed, is nourishment for the soul, then Singaporeans must have the most well-fed spirits this side of the world.

For shoppers who want to fly in style
BET your shopping expedition will be doubly fun if you fly the island-state’s national carrier, Singapore Airlines. For those whose prime rule of aviation is to fly superbly safe and swank, you can do no better than taking this airline, mind. Apart from the smoothest of rides (amply illustrated to us some years back, when, on touchdown at Changi airport, the passengers were at a loss for a minute or two whether the plane already was on solid ground, nobody felt that familiar thud), the most savory of in-flight cuisines (prepared by top international chefs like Gordon Ramsay), and, of course, that involving KrisWorld entertainment system (computer games, nonstop film-watching, personalized music playlists), Singapore Airlines joins in the excitement of the Great Singapore Sale with its own tour packages.

THEY EVEN HAVE PARSLEY!
Here are some of the shows that made their Asian debut at the recent Singapore Arts Festival.

HONG KONG HOP
SINGAPORE, of course, is hardly the only Asian shopping hub round this time. Hong Kong has enjoyed regional, and even world-wide, renown for its slam-bang sale extravaganza during the months of July and August.

DVD Downtime
THERE are a few, fairly recent DVDs from Warner home video that may be worth checking out, when confined by bad weather indoors, or simply logging in downtime at home:
