TARLAC CAPITOL — The Tarlac provincial government has set up towers in three different towns to be used for its i-TV (interactive television) project.
The 60-foot towers are located in the towns of Victoria, Mayantoc, and Aguso, Tarlac City.
A cluster management module (CMM) or base station was also built at the Tarlac provincial capitol tower which serves as receiver and transmitter of the programs to be used in various schools.
Tarlac Gov. Jose V. Yap said that the continuing support of the provincial government for the enhancement of education could be well seen in this project.
"The current surge in the use of technology in teaching students is already a reality. We must learn to harness these new techniques and make good use of it, so that we could improve our student’s ability and keep abreast with the highly technology-driven society." Governor Yap said.
Recently, 15 units of personal computers were distributed -- six in Victoria, six in Mayantoc and three in the public school of Aguso. The modules to be used in the programmes focus on three subjects, Science, English and Math and are approved by the Department of Education. (Fred Roxas)
