After ‘Pusang Gala,’ Reggie Curley gets another good role in ‘Daisy Siyete’
spacer

Crispina Martinez Belen

Here’s an interesting new for fans of Reggie Curley.

Fresh from the critical success of "Mga Pusang Gala" which is getting awards and nominations here and abroad, the model turned actor gets to play another challenging and exciting role in the new season of "Daisy Siyete." Entitled, "Landas," this new season has Reggie playing Alfred, a handsome and ambitious lawyer who stops at nothing in getting his way to the top. Alfred marries wealthy but orphaned heiress Rochelle (played by Sex Bomb Rochelle Pangilinan) but it seems that he has other plans for his new bride. He can’t get over his wife’s adopted sister, played by Sex Bomb Sunshine who is truly a revelation here playing an anti–heroine. There’s a lot of twists and turns in the story and Reggie is truly enjoying his role. He even got to shoot a music video for the movie’s theme song, which included snippets from Reggie’s wedding scene with Rochelle.

The new season of "Daisy Siyete" is said to be enjoying high ratings, thanks to a good story, glamorous setting, and an attractive cast which also includes Romnick Sarmenta and Jordan Herrerra.

"Daisy Siyete" airs everyday, Monday to Friday, after "Eat Bulaga" on GMA 7, under the direction of Pat Perez.

8 Inches back-to-back

with Bamboo at MetroBar

With the 8 Inches playing back-to-back with them, Bamboo will hold another concert at Metro Bar West Ave. tomorrow. The show is entitled "Bamboo...Rewind" and produced by Mon Doratan of M4U Productions.

The 8 Inches started as a band way back in 2004; the members are Arvin Cortez, Fritz Antiporda, Jay Escobar, Ivan Nolasco and Richie Padama.

They have been doing their own gigs together, playing good music and making money. But they felt there was something even more important that just simply playing music and making money! Until they met Mon Doratan who provided them that "something important," and that is their forthcoming concert with the Bamboo on July 15!

Jay, the lead vocalist, says of their concert with the Bamboo: "Perhaps it is not really a back to back, but we will be curtain raisers for Bamboo!"

He adds of course that curtain raisers should be as good as the main act performers, or they may not be able to raise the curtains at all!

When Mon Doratan heard about the 8 Inches, he knew they were talented and there was no need to convince him to include the band in the "Bamboo...Rewind" concert.

The "Bamboo...Rewind" will start of a new series of concerts which the 8 Inches will be having with other bands.

And soon they will have their own album which they are now preparing for.

"Bamboo...Rewind" is the first big concert for 8 Inches.

The "Bamboo" band had its debut sometime in 2002. In October 2003, the band signed up with EMI-PolyEast Records. Their first album, "As The Music Plays," speaks of hope and peace.

The album has always been in the best selling charts of record stores. It won the Golden Award (August 2004), Platinum Award (November 2004) and Double Platinum (March 2005).

The band has won several awards, like "Best Group" during the MTV Philippines 2004.

Among their very popular singles are "Noypi," "Mr. Clay" and "Masaya."

Bamboo band is composed of Bamboo Mañalac (vocalist), Ira Cruz (guitarist), Vic Mercado (drummer), and Nathan Azarcon (bassist).

By the way, Bamboo’s winning streak goes on at Winston Wings Tour in Aruba, Metrowalk tonight. It is recalled that the group has won many awards this year, including the Awit Awards’ Song of the Year, and People’s Choice for Band of the Year, and the Rock Band of the Year award from GMA’s Pasiklaban.

Remember, "Bamboo...Rewind," July 15, at the Metro Bar, West Ave., Quezon City.
