Whattaguy!
THE FIRST time I heard the name Manny Pangilinan was over ten years ago from a close friend and classmate from Letran elementary and high school, Carmelo "Meloy" Casas of the top-notch architectural firm, Recio+Casas. Meloy was a mean left-handed basketball player who had a killer jump shot and did not hesitate to mix it up inside the paint. I know, I still have painful memories of bruises, a busted lip and a bloodied nose from our "friendly" games in their home in Sampaloc. Meloy went on to land in the top ten in the architectural board after graduating from UST. These days, he continues to extract blood money from me at the golf course. Some friend.
