Eastern Mindoro College
It all began from a VISION of one - the late Atty. Artemio Selda Rodriquez, educationally–minded, civic-spirited and enterprising man from Gasan, Marinduque. His love for learning prompted him to establish a school - the Eastern Mindoro Academy in July 1945. He believed that ‘learning is a treasure’ and through his vision he could provide the youth of his adopted town of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro the gift of education that they could cherish throughout life. He wanted to offer them the opportunity to finish high school, for at that time, the only secondary school in Mindoro was the Mindoro Provincial High (now Leido Memorial National High School) in Calapan City, about 102 kilometers away from Bongabong.
