STREET BEAT BEYOND terminology, beyond definition and cultural lines drawn in the sand, there has existed, arguably since the late ‘70s, hints of hip hop dance influences at the fringes of Filipino culture and entertainment. ROCKY ROCK IT KNOWN for his scratching on Black Eyed Peas’ latest album, Monkey Business, Filipino DJ Rocky Rock is a recognized face and name in the local hip hop scene, and has been instrumental in taking the Black Eyed Peas to Manila, where he was the opening act. Aside from being a successful competitive DJ, having first won in amateur then in professional competitions, he also founded Mind Music, a DJ School dedicated to empowering the next generation with turntable skills and serving as an outlet to the people of the community to share their passion with a diverse culture.

Lady in the Water ONE of the things that people have come to expect from M. Night Shyamalan’s films is the twist at the end, as if this were what they were being watched for. And, as such, some have been inclined to label the director a one-trick pony.
