Three weeks after the ratification of the Treaty of Paris in the U.S. Senate, Bishop James Thoburn sailed from Hong Kong to Manila, at the request of the Board of Missions of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America, to assess the prospect of mission work in the Philippines.

TDP teacher-scholars from Mauban, Quezon undergo training-workshops
Forty-one public elementary school teachers from Mauban, Quezon are now... better equipped in teaching Science, Math and English after undergoing seminar-workshops under the Teacher Development Training Program (TOP). The program was established last year by Quezon Power (Philippines), Limited Co., the local government of Mauban and the UP Open University (UPOU) with the objective of upgrading the teaching skills of its teacher-scholars and further improving education in the town of Mauban, Quezon.
