KOREAN Food and Wine Korean cuisine is often described by many food enthusiasts as complex and flavorful, and strong yet simple. But, when I tried Korean cooking last Wednesday in my own kitchen, where almost all the required ingredients were not on the shelves, I hurriedly had to go to a restaurant-deli. I ended up buying some ingredients and preservatives for my research into Korean cuisines--so much for simplicity.

An old Chinese proverb reveals the majesty of the Oriental Capital of Leisure and China’s City of Gourmet Food. KIMCHI: THE GREAT KOREAN PRESERVE Even after the boom of Korean telenovelas in the country, such as "Jewel in the Palace" which frequently featured the exquisite cuisine of Korea, kimchi remains the most popular Korean dish in the Philippines. Like mangga, kamatis at bagoong or atchara, kimchi also found a place in Filipino tables because of its power to complement most dishes it is eaten with, making eating more exciting and enjoyable.
