COLOR ME PRETTY MOST women I know are dummies when it comes to applying makeup on their faces. This is not really a bad thing, but these women might be missing out on great opportunities. These days, a little color here and there contributes huge amounts of "un-forced and voluntary" effort in getting tasks done. Researches and surveys show most men respond more positively to beautiful-looking women bosses than to their more "homely-looking" counterparts. Personally, I take offense to that, but we all live in the same world where reality usually bites. Suffice to say, a little color upgrade will most likely get tasks and chores done, whether at home or in the office. I hope I don’t offend a large number of women when I say, the more superficially beautiful you are, the greater MAN-power you’ll get. It definitely has its perks and a little fast-forward motion can only mean better productivity. So, why not?
THE VERSATILE BASIC RENE Lacoste unwittingly launched a revolution in casualwear in 1929 when he modified the long-sleeved tennis shirt (a dress shirt that had to be worn with a tie, even) for his on-court appearances. He made it out of cotton pique, with an unstarched collar, a longer back, and, crucially, short sleeves. Polo players adopted the style for comfort and maximum movement on the field (they were also encumbered by long-sleeved uniforms) and, through the years and after its eventual co-optation by the general apparel market, it became routinely referred to as the "polo shirt."
MIRACLE MOVES TEAM Allstars, the now celebrated hip hop dance group, came home not too long ago to a crowd of press eager to interview them about their victory in Italy. When team captain Kenneth Serrano was asked why they think they won, what did they do, or how did they prepare, he had only one answer every time: "God." There is a childlike sincerity and a sparkle in Ken’s eyes that makes you understand that this champion means what he says, and when he starts going on about his faith and how it has seen the Allstars through the worst of their struggles, his energy is infectious and his words, anyone can tell, are very real.
The distaff side of court and track THE latest incarnations under Nike casualwear are something of a fashionable irony. Under the Nike Women tag, the new Nike Blazer Mid, Nike Blazer Low and Sprint Sister take off from their original style and comfort on the court and on the track, and go full circle in sports shoe history with a reinvented look made especially for the street.
