THE ENTRÉE ART: grilling and roasting science
I always detest those chefs who think that rotisserie is merely a minor component of cuisine, despite its popularity as a "requisite-cookery" for highlight entrées as steaks, and poule rotis in almost all the restaurant menus all over the world. I can’t blame them. Perhaps, it’s because of the idea that grilling or treating meat in direct fire or heat has been the oldest and most primal mode of cookery known to mankind.

What’s the menu at the MENU?
Menu literally means, "list of options or set of choices". That explains why the newest addition to the numerous establishments in Metrowalk in Ortigas named their place after, well, a menu. It’s true, it has recall, it’s short, catchy and it’s unique and it’s how they really wanted it to be.

THE BEEFSTEAK GUIDE
In the culinary world, or even in history, cooking meat over fire is the oldest method of cooking known to man. When people didn’t have much knowledge about cooking, people used to eat raw meat.

Unconventional Grilling On Your La Mesa
Who said grilling food should only be done outdoors?

Wine: That Go Well With Grilled Cuisine
Pinoys love the natural and simple flavors of grilled food. There is no trick or complexity that lies in pairing wines with the smoky, spicy or herbal nuances found in charcoal broiled recipes. A lot of wines that come into the country go so well with this method of cooking. Here are some recent wines I’ve tasted that you will enjoy with your inihaw and the majority are found in supermarkets. I’ve included the names of the importers if you can’t find them in the liquour sections or stores:

Power Breakfasts from Seattle’s Best
Seattle’s Best Coffee lets the men and women in power start the day on a high note by offering tasty freshly-cooked all-day Power Breakfasts to keep them on the go the whole day long.

SUNDAY BARBECUES
I love Sundays! While I was growing up, Sundays meant barbecue lunches after church at home with my cousins, aunts, uncles, lolos and lolas. We usually hop from house to house for our weekly barbecues. The host family takes care of the grill and the pork bellies with the rice. Salads, chicken, seafoods, desserts were assigned to the rest. And, we love hosting!!! It means you have full control of the grill – and all the food!

Oyster & Oysters At Westgate Alabang
Discover the many ways of enjoying oysters at the newly opened Oyster & Oysters restaurant located at Westgate Alabang.

Yours Truly, Florabel
People are dead tired of cliches. Today is an age that demands innovation. Anything repetitive quickly loses its magic and appeal. In restaurant writing, no cliche is bigger than to say that the food is appetizing, mouth-watering, or just plain yummy.

TNT’s Orange Nights
As their way of thanking their clients, TNT Express Worldwide Philippines, Inc., the world’s leading business-to-business express delivery company, held a night of European indulgence as this year’s Orange Nights showcased not only great food but a Wine Sensory Workshop as well.
