The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 577 out of 1,419 passed the Physical and Occupational Therapist Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the cities of Manila, Baguio and Cebu last month.
Also last night, the PRC announced that 186 out of 281 passed the Optometrist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Optometry in Manila last July, 2006.
On the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy which gave the licensure examination are Dr. Teresita Joy P. Evangelista, chairman; Raul G. Agustin, Marylynn B. Querouz, and Bernadette M. Reyes, members.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, Aug. 8, but not later than Aug. 23.
The oathtaking ceremony of the examinees will be held before the Board on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1 p.m., at the historic landmark Manila Hotel.
Registration for membership with the Philippine Physical Therapist Association (PPTA) and Occupational Therapist Association of the Philippines (OTAP) will take place after registration as a professional with the Board and the Commission.
The successful Physical Therapist examinees who garnered the highest places are:
Raymond Valdez Cruz, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 86.75 percent; Lauren B. Pacis, University of Santo Tomas, 86.60; Paul Ryan Co Que Sanchez, UST, 85.55; Cristine Rose dela Cruz Sanchez, UST, 85.40 and Martha Angela Javier Montemar, University of the Philippines, Manila, 84.55.
The successful Occupational Therapist examinees who garnered the highest places are:
Kathleya Marie Rola Aquino, University of Santo Tomas, 83; Dianna Cristine Junsay Salonga, UP Manila, 83; Hero Bernal Yason, UST, 83 and Diana Jean Zapata Padolina, UST, 82.20.
Meanwhile, on the Board of Optometry which gave the licensure examnation are Dr. Mariano M. Tañada Jr., chairman; and Drs. Rosalinda B. Bono, Teresita H. Marcaida, Divinia Lourdes R. Reyes (inhibited), and Anita S. Villarta, members.

Mary Rose Robles Parao, Centro Escolar University Manila, 86.36 percent; Katherine M. De Mesa, Manila Central University - Caloocan, 85.34; Donnie Yacas Saludes, MCU, 83.92; and June Caezar Q. Acebedo, Cebu Doctors’ University, 83.44.
The successful examinees who garnered the highest places in the Optometrist Licensure Examination – 4 Years are:
Jaypee Joseph H. Ramos, Manila Central University, 87.47; Junius Anton Reyes, Centro Escolar University Manila, 87.31 and Arnulfo Morante, MCU, 84.84.
The PRC announced that 11 out of 27 examinees passed the Special Certification Examination in Ocular Pharmacology for Optometrist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Optometry in Manila last July.
