Ford Group Philippines (FGP) and the Tuason Racing School (TRS) have teamed up to conduct "Responsibility in Driver’s Education" (RIDE) in various schools in Metro Manila. JP Tuason heads the TRS.
Designed for kids in the preschool, high school and college levels, the seminar, which can accommodate between 50 to 300 students, is taught inside school campuses. The one-and-a-half hour seminar helps participants to learn responsibility behind the wheel and to recognize and prevent the causes of road accidents.
Topics for preschoolers include: Proper bike riding techniques; the importance of using protective gear such as helmets, knee and elbow pads; getting in and out of school buses and public vehicles; and the proper use of seatbelts and car safety seats.
High school and college students, meanwhile, are taught the causes of accidents; getting in and out of a vehicle; accident facts in the Philippines; car conditions and safety features; pedestrian safety; driving tips; and common traffic signs.
