The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) recently held its election for its officers at Club Filipino, San Juan.
The elected officers include Dr. Vincent Fabella of José Rizal University, president; Atty. Gonzalo Duque of the Lyceum Northwestern University, first vice president; Dr. Emily De Leon of the University of Manila, second vice president; Dr. Karen Belina De Leon of Misamis University, secretary; and Dr. Reynaldo Vea of the Mapua Institute of Technology, treasurer.
The PACU Board expressed its pleasure over the new set of officers, and vowed to pursue a productive year of actions in support of quality and accessible private education, consistent with PACU’s mission and goals.
In addition to the newly elected officers are the members of the Board that include Dr. Ester Garcia, University of the East; Dr. Amelou Reyes, Philippine Women’s University; Dr. Ricardo Pama, Angeles University Foundation; Dr. Lydia Echauz, Far Eastern University; Fr. Anscar Chupungko, OSB, San Beda College; Dr.Elizabeth Lahoz, Technological Institute of the Philippines; Fr. Tamerlane Lana, OP, University of Sto. Tomas; Dr. Carlo Villanueva, Naga College Foundation; Dr. Virgilio Bautista, University of Baguio; Atty. Augusto Go, University of Cebu; Atty. David Tirol, University of Bohol; Hon. Alberto Lopez, University of Iloilo; Rep. Eduardo Gullas, University of the Visayas; Dolores Torres, University of Mindanao; Dr. Chito Salazar, Cagayan de Oro College; and Atty. Casimiro Juarez,Jr., Capitol University.
PACU was established in 1932 with the primary goal of uplifting the standard of the instruction in all private schools, colleges and universities in the Philippines and to foster the ideals of service to the youth of the land as a means to mold their character and prepare them to be good citizens and future leaders of the country.
