With a view of the Sun
spacer

By Lucita Vizquiel

Imagine a place where the sun gently shines on all celebrations, with lovely flowers and foliage, and with four different and distinct yet beautiful venues to choose from. These are what Ibarra’s Portico del Sol in Kawit, Cavite offers as it opens its doors to the public.

Just one example of the lavish settings possible
at Portico del Sol.
Once known as Portico de Gracia, Ibarra’s has taken over and given it a new name and heritage. ‘Portico’ is the Spanish word for ‘port’ or ‘porch’, and the name can be interpreted both as ‘Porch of the Sun’ or ‘Port of the Sun.’ Either way, it’s an auspicious name, something Ibarra’s definitely intended when they chose the new name. Cecille Sarthou, sales and marketing manager of Ibarra’s Party Venues and Catering, says, "We at Ibarra’s perceive Portico del Sol as an entry into the sun… a beginning of a happy, bright and sunny life… a place for bright and beautiful beginnings."

Given that Ibarra’s already has already made a name for itself thanks to its four well-known venues in the metro, why open one outside the city? Cecile says, "There was a huge demand from our clientele for us to put up an Ibarra’s in the south. Since our clients did not want to have to go back Metro Manila to celebrate their events, we decided to bring the Ibarra’s experience to their area."

It’s certainly reason for those down south to celebrate, because Portico del Sol offers the same wedding reception experience clients have come to expect from Ibarra’s. "We have a vision: to bring the newest wedding trends, the latest wedding fashion, and our sumptuous, wide selection of international and Filipino dishes to Cavitenos. We aim to be the preferred party venue in the south," Cecile says.

They certainly are equipped for the job. Ibarra’s Portico Del Sol has four different venues to choose from. For lavish receptions of any theme, there’s The Pavilion, which can accommodate 300-400 persons. The Poolside, which can accommodate 100 persons, is ideal for beach- tropical-, or aquatic-themed weddings. There’s also the Greenhouse, an air-conditioned function area surrounded by exotic plants and ornamental flowers that can accommodate 250-300 persons. It’s designed to give Portico del Sol clients a cool setting in a wonderful ambiance. The Garden, which is the largest venue, can accommodate up to 800 guests.

On a budget but not willing to compromise quality? Ibarra’s Portico Del Sol offers complete wedding packages for as low as P 62,760. Standard packages include a 3-layered fondant cake, 50 wedding souvenirs, flower arrangements, a bottle of sparkling wine, doves in a decorated cage, a guest book, a torch parade, free food tasting for two persons, free use of the garden or pavilion for four hours, and a delicious buffet for 100 persons.

Or are you looking for a romantic date place? Ibarra’s Portico Del Sol’s al fresco restaurant opens soon.

Ibarra’s Portico Del Sol is the fifth member of Ibarra’s Party Venues and Catering, continuing a tradition of good taste and service since 2000. It joins prestigious outlets Ibarra’s Garden on Padre Faura in Manila, Patio Ibarra on Quezon Avenue, Plaza Ibarra on Timog, and Cilantro by Ibarra in Ermita, Manila. Ibarra’s will soon open its sixth branch, Summer Solstice, on Macapagal Avenue, near SM Mall of Asia and just in front of the Shrine of Jesus and Mary.

Portico del Sol is located on EPZA Diversion Road, Barangay Magdalo, Kawit, Cavite, with telephone number 046-4387593. For reservations and inquiries, look for Mary Ann Dalugdog or Emy Pacot.
