Rain or Shine, Tuloy ang Kasal
It seems like only yesterday that a proposal was made, and then we suddenly found ourselves in the midst of planning, preparing, and generally doing all those things required when you’re creating a section like all About Weddings. Now, nearly two years later, we’re still planning, still preparing, and still working hard to come up with ways to help brides (and grooms!) plan for their ultimate dream weddings.

Casa Periquet: Creating Furniture of Nuance and Memory
We need objects to remind us of the commitments we’ve made. That carpet from Morocco reminds us of the impulsive, freedom-loving side of ourselves we’re in danger of losing touch with. Beautiful furniture gives us something to live up to. All designed objects are propaganda for a way of life. -Alain de Botton

Attending Bridal Fairs
Q: How will going to a bridal fair help me source the best possible suppliers for my wedding? How can I get the most of my trip, especially if it is my first time to attend a bridal fair?

Lakeside Beauty and Farm Charm: The Coconut Grill of Capas, Tarlac
The sweet scent of a soft country wind, the lilting rhythm of rustling leaves, the majestic elegance of hardwood trees, the serenity of a lake turning gold with the sunset, the texture of a freshly harvested cob of corn in your hand—these are just some of the many rustic charms that greet visitors of the Coconut Grill in Capas, Tarlac.

WEDDING WONDERLAND AT THE PICC FORUM
Take a 3,000 sqm wedding wonderland, 1,001 fine ideas, and 250 exhibitors, and what do you get? One awesome event!

BRIDES & BEYOND: PHILIPPINE WEDDINGS IN THEMED SETTINGS
BRIDES & BEYOND: PHILIPPINE WEDDINGS IN THEMED SETTINGS, the first wedding fair to be held at the SM Mall Of Asia Atrium, will be presented by CHU-U-YEN EVENTS on September 7 – 13, 2006 at 10 AM to 10 PM daily. Highlights of the event include live performances of wedding musicians and a live mannequin show on September 9 featuring bridal gowns by noted designers.

Pinoy Weddings: A Blessing and a Trial
They say Filipinos stint themselves on everything once a celebration is on the horizon so that their celebration will be truly special. Very true, and perhaps a Pinoy wedding is one of the best examples of this. Once a couple becomes engaged, the whole thing becomes a splendid family affair…and this is doubly true for Filipinos living abroad, who make the occasion their reason for a family reunion.

Jason Magbanua, Dominic Velasco, and Lito Sy Win Awards in the US
Filipinos (and the wedding industry) have more to celebrate as videographers Jason Magbanua and Dominic Velasco received top awards during the recently concluded Wedding & Event Videographers Association (WEVA) International Expo 2006. WEVA is the world’s largest convention and trade show for professional videographers, which was held in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas last August 21-24, 2006. They competed for top prizes at the WEVA Awards, an international competition for videography, with entries coming from all over the world.

A WEDDING EXCHANGE AT HOLIDAY INN CLARK
Bridal fairs are a common event all over the country, so common that we see them everywhere. This year, Holiday Inn Clark conceptualized an exhibit quite different from your regular bridal show. The event, dubbed Wedding Exchange – "Where Buyers Meet Sellers", which will be held from September 30 to October 1, 2006, at Holiday Inn Clark in Pampanga, focuses on a limited number of couples who are planning to get married in the next four to twelve months. The small number of attendees will allow couples and suppliers to better discuss plans for that once-in-a-lifetime dream ceremony.
