New Cordless Phones for Families and Seniors
spacer

Two new cordless phones from Siemens have been designed with the needs of families and senior citizens in mind. Extra-large, illuminated keys and big numbers in the display make using E360 and E365 models of the gigaset series child's play. In addition, the E365 has an answering machine and a programmable SOS key that calls up to four stored numbers in the event of an emergency. Test with customers had shown that families with children give a high rating because of the direct calling keys.

The newcomers are being introduced to replace the two gigaset E150 models. The E150 phone, which has received many awards, also has large keys, loud ring tones and is easy to use. The experts from Siemens have not only given its successor a new design but also added additional functions. Alongside the illuminated keypad, a separate key for regulating the volume and many other new features, the phones have been specially designed to meet a special standard of hearing aids. The phones transmit the signal in the earphone twice — as both an acoustic and an electric signal. The latter is generated using electromagnetic induction. The hearing aid processes this electric signal and combines it with the acoustic signal. As a result, the wearer of the hearing aid can understand what the speaker is saying better.

Should the user press the SOS key integrated in the E365 in the event of an emergency, the phone calls up to four stored numbers, one after the other, and plays a previously recorded message asking for assistance. Should the call not get through or reach a busy line or only an answering machine, the phone automatically dials the next number.
