PHILIPS Electronics has expanded its 2006 LCD and plasma FlatTV line, offering consumers an even more amazing television viewing experience with stylish designs, features and connectivity.
On larger FlatTV screen sizes ranging from 32 to 50 inches, Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands, one of the world’s biggest electronics companies and Europe’s largest, shows the potent combination of the convenience of PC connectivity and the benefit of ground-breaking image enhancements.
Built-in ATSC tuners simplify HDTV viewing while additionally advanced technologies such as ClearLCD and Ambilight Full Surround extend ambient back lighting to the top side of the TV, delivering a cinematic experience and create a new market of HD televisions.
Ambilight technology, Philips said, provides consumers an immersive viewing experience as well as enables them to enjoy their favorite TV programs and movies with reduced eyestrain. Moreover, the latest generations of Ambilight technology “expand the view beyond the traditional ‘mono’ viewing element with surrounding ‘stereo’ backlight behind the TV.”
The latest of Philips’ 2006 LCD and FlatTVs have built-in ATSC tuners capable of receiving high-value HD cable programming over the air with an antenna and without a cable box. Their ClearLCD and Pixel Plus 3 HD image enhancing features produce a sharper, crisper picture with increased depth impression and more life-like colors.
The expanded FlatTVs are also equipped with features allowing simple USB connectivity, easy connection to personal computer via PC Link to view content on a larger screen, and acceptance of a variety of memory card formats.
