While awaiting the Supreme Court’s ruling on the people’s initiative, Charter change proponents in the House of Representatives yesterday started the ball rolling for their "Plan B" as the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments approved another resolution seeking to amend or revise the 1987 Constitution.
Voting 30-7, the committee chaired by Rep. Constantino Jaraula (Lakas, Cagayan de Oro) hastily adopted House Resolution No. 1230, which contains a package of amendments to the 19-year-old Charter, including the shift from bicameral presidential to unicameral parliamentary form of government.
