Surigao State College of Technology
The history of the SURIGAO STATE COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (SSCT) is a story founded on the dreams of then Governor Jose Sering, Congressman Constantino Navarro Sr. and Superintendent Marcelino Bonilla. It is a story of growth consistent with progress and development.

From dream to reality
Recently awarded the Kabalikat Provincial and Regional Awards for Technology Training Development and declared third place winner in the Best Paper Award category, Post Harvest Technology, International Convention, and Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers out of 167 local and international entries, the Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT), through its Research Development and Extension (RDEX) office and the collaborative efforts of SSCT president Engr. Henry Lafiada, Ph. D. and Jaime Puracan, embarks on its dream of becoming a premier research office in the Caraga Region.

PNTC lauded for 2 marine courses
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has approved during its 279th Special Commission Meeting through CEB Resolution No. 459-2006 the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering programs of PNTC Colleges in Dasmarinas, Cavite.

5th Philippine Robotics Olympiad
The Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO) is now on it’s 5th year, with more schools and students joining the annual event. The PRO is a science, technology and educational event which aims to offer an opportunity for students to expand their horizons through exploration of robots and the robotic systems in schools. An estimate of over 80 teams/schools will be competing this year. The Categories are: for elementary level (ages 10-12 yrs old) ROBOT SOCCER and for high school level (ages 13-15 yrs old) ROBOT ADVENTURE. The preliminaries will be on October 5 and final judging on October 12, both to be held at the Activity Center, Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City. The Open Category theme is "HUMANOIDS" and final judging will be on October 12.

WANTED: A new breed of 'super kids'
You may not have the ability to fly like Superman or the power to control the weather like Storm. You may not possess super speed to get things done in a snap nor highly developed skills to face everyday challenges quickly. But, you can contribute so much to the community if you are willing to share your talents and excel in fields you love the most. Who says one has to possess superpowers in order to be "super" anyway?
