Nat’l coop summit opens in Palawan on Oct. 4-6
The government of Palawan will host the 8th National Cooperative Summit from October 4, Palawan Gov. Joel T. Reyes said.

Esperon stops requirement on ‘cedulas’
FORT MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City — Armed Forces chief of staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon Jr. has directed the military to refrain from requiring civilians in Nueva Ecija and the entire Luzon area to acquire "cedulas" or community tax certificates in a bid to stop the New People’s Army’s (NPA) from sowing hatred between the people and the soldiers.

Mindanao towns, Indon cities forge trade links
ZAMBOANGA CITY (PNA) – The Jose Abad Santos-Glan-Sarangani Cooperation Triangle (JAGS-CT) has forged trade links with North Sulawesi, Indonesia, a breakthrough made during a five-day JAGS-CT trade mission to Indonesia under the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).

Free health insurance set for slain soldiers’ kin
BUTUAN CITY — The immediate members of the families of soldiers killed in action (KIA) are now covered by free health insurance program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), an Army commander announced the other day.
