The tattoo flock gather for Dutdutan
The biggest tattoo event is once again upon us. Now on its third year, Dutdutan, to be held December 16 at the Garahe Bar on Mabini St., Malate, will showcase the enormous talents of our tattoo artists, in a competition poised to be both battle ground and learning arena for young artists who want to pursue a career in tattooing.
The officers of PhilTAG, the tattoo association, will be demonstrating a new kind of art called "art fusion," where several tattoo artists will display their art alternatively (during a designated time) on a single canvas.
There will also be the traditional tattoo competition where collectors of tattoos will try to outwit their competitors through several categories like Best Large Piece for both Colored and Black and Gray, Best Medium Piece for both Colored and Black and Gray, Best Tribal, Best Small Piece with a minimum size of 1 inch by 1 inch with five colors, Best Female, Best Tribal Design and, lastly, the Tattoo of the Night.
The organizers hope that the event will promote tattoo as a viable art form and tourism attraction. It is also promoting safe tattooing among practitioners and enthusiasts.
Dutdutan is presented by Red Horse Beer, Garahe Bar, Mobiuslive.net and PhilTAG and sponsored by Buhay Pinoy, Jagermister, Red Mens Magazine, Abante, Vedic Nation, Surfingphilippines.net,
Skin Works Tattoo and Body Piercing, Dickies, Fudge Magazine,
