All motorists using the Skyway System’s Buendia-Bicutan elevated section and its at-grade Magallanes-Alabang section and the Alabang-Calamba section of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) will enjoy toll-free travel from 10 p.m. of Dec. 24 up to 6 a.m. of Dec. 25 and from 10 p.m. of Dec. 31, 2006 up to 6 a.m. of Jan. 1, 2007.
The operations head of PNCC Skyway Corp. (PSC), Romerico Reganit, and SLEX head Jose Manuel Antonio said the toll holiday has been the practice of PSC and SLEX over the years to give their toll plaza personnel the chance to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve with their families.
Reganit and Antonio also assure all E-Pass patrons who pass the toll roads during the toll holiday period that no toll fees will be charged against their E-Pass accounts. The central computer and toll plaza systems will automatically perform an override function so that toll fees could not be deducted from their E-Pass accounts.
Meanwhile, officials have cut by 10 percent the toll fees collected at the North Luzon Expressway starting yesterday.
