Four femme fatales
spacer

Crispina Martinez Belen

Aside from Zsa Zsa Padilla and Pops Fernandez, there are four other costume-clad characters in "Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, Ze Moveeh" who are equally sexy, femme fatales in fact, who play henchwomen to Pops Fernandez’s Queen Femina. The movie, by the way, got an "A" from the Cinema Evaluation Board.

They are Giselle Sanchez, Kitkat, Glaiza de Castro and Say Alonzo.

Giselle, soughtafter comedienne/actress/TV host, plays the mega-star Amazonista Sharon C. in the movie which marks her third film in a row for Regal Entertainment. Said producer Roselle Monteverde-Teo: "Casting Giselle in ‘Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah’ was a no-brainer, especially after her hysterically funny scenes in ‘Ako Legal Wife’ and ‘Manay Po,’ which were boxoffice hits directed by Joel Lamangan. We knew we wanted Giselle to play an Amazonista, but which oned? In the end, based on Dinno Erece’s script, we thought she would be best as Sharon C."

On her part, Giselle said "it’s a dream-come-true for me to play Sharon in a movie, but it’s probably a nightmare for the megastar! I would have been happy to play any role in this movie because I’m such a big fan of Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah. They asked me to spoof one of my favorite movie stars in the film was icing on the cake."

Surprisingly, head-turning comedienne Kitkat was assigned the challenging role of the "api" Amazonista Nora A. The notorious scene-stealer said "I didn’t know how to react when I was given by Mother Lily the role of Nora A. Of course I wanted to be part of ‘Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah.’ Everyone did! But as to why they gave me the role, it might be because I am petite like Ate Guy. and because I play a fairy in ‘Pedro Penduko.’ Maybe they thought that because I play a flying fairy on TV then I could play a flying planet woman in ‘Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah.’ Whatever the reason, I am happy to be part of the movie. Sana matuwa sa akin ang mga manonood..."

Say Alonzo, "Pinoy Big Brother" charmer, play the "Amazonista for All Seasons" Vilma S. After PBB, Say, who plays Katrina Halili’s best friend in the Regal movie "Gigil," said her dream is to appear in a fantasy series on TV. That dream is partly realized by her inclusion in "Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah." Now, her supporters who call themselves "Sayers," are campaigning for her to play a kontrabida in the upcoming fantaserye "Lastikman."

Recording artistactress Glaiza de Castro plays the fourth femme fatal Amazonista, Dina B. and she said "I’m nervous because my role as Dina B. in ‘Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah’ is comedic compared to my serious character in ‘Manay Po 4.’ But Direk Joel Lamangan was very helpful in funnier this time around. It’s my first kontrabida role and my first all-out comedy, so I did my best. If I make the viewers laugh just once during the movie, I’ll be very happy."

"Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah" is one of Mother Lily’s four entries to MMFF-P 2006.

By the way, Mother Lily threw a party recently for all those who helped create her four entries: "Mano Po 5," "Shake, Rattle & Roll 8," "Super Noypi" and "Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah." Held at the Imperial Palace, it was attended by some of the stars of the said movies: Iza Calzado, Polo Ravales, Alfred Vargas, Sandara Park, Joseph Bitangcol, Roxanne Ginoo, Michelle and Ehra Madrigal, Janus del Prado, Ethel Booba, Alwyn Uytingco, IC Mendoza and many others.

Mother Lily raffled off Rustan’s gift certificates to members of the entertainment press. "I’ve spent more than R2–million for this year’s filmfest but everyone made it look like R600million! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!"

She said she has no regrets about taking such a huge financial risks on her four fantastic big-screen spectacles. "Christmas and the MMFF are all about families, especially the children," she reflected. "That’s why we are giving them enough fantasy, action, adventure, romance and comedy to last them till next year. Every Filipino family deserves only the best, and Regal Films is totally commmitted to giving it to them."
