In our current fast and technology-slaved lifestyle, mobility of a device is an important factor. This is the reason why we see gadgets shrinking by the day. Ironically, despite the downsize, the quality of the technology even gets better. This is absolutely true in videos. We were so happy with the technology of betamax (ooops, I think I gave away my generation) then VHS, then LD, then VCD then DVD and now the incoming High Definition Blu-Ray discs. My 6 years old precious daughter cannot even understand the concept of rewinding after watching!
What continues to amaze me are the growing portable DVD players with high quality screens. Who would ever taught years back that we can shrink the bulky TVs and the heavy players in one portable gadget that plays high quality videos.

One of their newest product is the SDV185-S tablet DVD player. The SDV185-S is a slot loading DVD player rather than the standard tray loading mechanism, which is easier to use and more durable. The SDV-185S supports the usual DVD, CD, SVCD, Mp3, CD, CDA audio CDs, JPEG, CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. But what really caught my attention is the capability to play MPEG4/DivX!!!
Unfamiliar with DivX? DivX is a brand name of a popular video compression technology. DivX is a codec (short for compression/decompression) – a piece of software that compresses video from virtually any source down to a size that is transportable over the Internet without reducing the original video’s visual quality. This means you can compress a DVD to a fraction of its original size with virtually no loss in quality. Do I hear free downloads? This is probably the reason (I’m just guessing!) why it also features a USB port on the side for your handy flash drives that contains countless scandal movies!
This Walking Cinema, has a built-in stereo speakers.
