The celebration will kick off with a tree-planting activity at the Quezon City Wild Life and Nature Park, followed by a tai chi session.
On Feb. 12, there will be a luncheon fellowship at the MJCN grounds, an opening worship at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Tondo, Manila, and an evening choral concert to set the stage for the centennial celebration.
Business sessions formally open on Feb. 13 at the Manila Hotel, which will include keynote address, scientific sessions, and awarding of outstanding alumni.
The awards to be given are the Centennial Hall of Fame Award, the Librada Topacio Javalera Centennial Achievement Award, the Centennial Magis Award of Distinction and the Centennial Recognition Award.
On Feb. 14, delegates will do a ceremonial wreath-laying at the Rizal Monument in Rizal Park, to be followed by a re-dedication worship service at the Central United Methodist Church and a business meeting at the Philippine Christian University.
In the evening, a Valentine dinner concert fellowship titled "A Century of Love" at the New World Rennaisance Hotel featuring Dulce and contemporary gospel quintet Personal Revival Asia (Prasia) will be held.
As part of its community outreach, the school’s alumni will have a medical, dental and optical mission and feeding program at the Tondo Sports Complex on Feb. 16.
The week-long celebration concludes with a post-conference fellowship on Feb. 17 to plan for future activities of the alumni association.
PCU-MJCN was founded in 1907 by American Methodist missionary doctor Rebecca Parrish to provide nursing support to Mary Johnston Hospital which she also established. In 1953, it affiliated with the Philippine Christian College (now PCU).
