The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) holds today a Bible Fiesta at the Folk Arts Theater and the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City as a highlight of the observance of National Bible Week.
The PBS, in cooperation with the Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apostolate (ECBA) of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, the Philippines for Jesus Movement, and the Philippine Foundation of Bible Agencies, will hold various activities during the whole-day affair, including a Bible quiz, exhibits, seminars, youth forums, art workshops, storytelling sessions and a concert featuring some of the country’s top bands and artists.
The observance of National Bible Week began last Jan. 22 and ends tomorrow, Jan. 28, with the celebration of National Bible Sunday.
PBS General Secretary Nora Lucero urged the faithful to attend and take part in the Bible Fiesta "to help promote and honor the Word of God and to reaffirm the importance and relevance of God’s Word in our lives."
The PBS also urged the faithful to buy copies of the Bible, the "perfect gift" to families and friends, and read the Holy Book.
