Almost a hundred bishops attended Friday’s opening of the 94th Plenary Assembly of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) at the Pope Pius XII Center on United Nations Avenue in Paco, Manila.

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) and its three attached agencies — the Philippine Postal Corp. (Philpost), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and Telecommunications Office (TO) — have been named by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as among its deputies to ensure unhampered delivery of ballots, election return forms and paraphernalia, and speedy transmission of election messages vital to the conduct of peaceful, orderly, and credible elections on May 14.

STO. DOMINGO, Ilocos Sur — Three persons were killed and one was wounded when unidentified men armed with Carbine rifles suddenly entered their house last Friday night while they were having a drinking session and gunned them down, police said.
